Getting an account

IBERS Staff and Postgraduate Students

In order to get an account on Bert & Ernie (the IBERS HPC), all you need to do is fill in this online form;

http://bert.ibers.aber.ac.uk/request.html

You will receive and email from the System Administrator once the account has been set up.

Access

The IBERS HPC authentication system is integrated with Information Services, which means that the username/password used on the HPC is the same as your IS account (email etc.). With this in mind, ensure that you comply with the Aberystwyth University IS Regulations and Guidelines with respect to passwords.

External users, visiting staff/students and collaborations

The HPC can only be accessed from within the Aberystwyth University firewall. This means that an Aberystwyth University IS account is required. This can be applied by following the guidelines outlined here here.
