Introduction

Super Computing Wales (SCW) is a shared supercomputing facility for Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities. All its computing resources are located in Cardiff or Swansea.

Its considerably more powerful than the IBERS HPC, but is shared by a lot more users.

Current Status

SCW is a follow on to the earlier High Performance Computing Wales project that ran from 2010 to 2015. Super Computing Wales is available to use as of September 24th 2018.

Training

Training courses for SCW will be running periodically. See http://jump.aber.ac.uk/?nmhpt for more details.

Research Software Engineers

SCW has employed a group of software engineers to help write new software or adapt existing software to take advantage of SCW. Colin Sauze (cos@aber.ac.uk) is the software engineer for Aberystwyth, please email him with any SCW specific queries.

Mailing List

There is an SCW mailing list for all Aberystwyth based users of the system. Email scw-users@aber.ac.uk to send to this list. If you want to subscribe to the list email Colin Sauze (cos@aber.ac.uk) to request to be put on the list.
